The group was established in May 2001 and is made up of officers from Local Authorities and Housing Associations, working together with tenants.
AIMS OF THE GROUP
a)To promote the interests & rights of residents in Hertfordshire & surrounding areas.
b) To promote the maintenance & improvement of housing conditions, amenities & the environment by working with local people in order to meet their needs & requirements.
c) To share ideas regarding the involvement of local people, taking into consideration good practice, Best Value & ways of creating communities where people want to live.
d) To provide training to members of the group, staff, tenants, & residents. Members of the group, staff, tenants, residents & other professionals as appropriate will provide training.
e) To provide opportunities for hard to reach groups to be involved, such as people with a disability & BME groups.
f) To work for equal treatment of & equal opportunities for all residents regardless of their class, age, race, nationality, gender, sexuality, political or religious beliefs. To actively encourage all residents in the area to become involved in the Association & to represent fairly their views & needs. |
